New web site: your feedback
Hi everyone,
I am very pleased to announce the launch of the new Pain Concern web site!
Our mission is to provide information, support and resources to pain sufferers and those who care for and about them. This redesign organises the site around these three key topics. It aims to make it much easier for you to find the information that is relevant to you.
Look around the web site and try out the search feature to see what Pain Concern has to offer!
Your feedback is very important to us, so please feel free to reply below or by sending us an e-mail to info@painconcern.org.uk and let us know what you think of the web site - what you like, what you don't like and what you would like to see here.
Thanks!
- Dan

Hi Dan
I really like this new website.
The forum is a really good idea.
It is 3.30 in the morining and I am, unfortunately, having a pain flare up. I often find checking out a pain site quite supportive during these pain.
I hope to renew my magazine subscription too. Can I do this over this 'phone?

Hi Yessela
Thanks for your posting. Unfortunately we are unable to accept magazine subscription renewals over the phone at the moment, as we can only accept cheques or postal orders as payment. We hope to be able to offer more convenient ways to pay during 2008.
Thank you for your support

As the Secretary of Pain Concern UK when it evolved from the Whitstable based organisation SHIP (Self Help in Pain) back in the last century (!), I am very pleased to see the organisation is still in existence and has entered the age of IT with this web site.
I had attended LMCA meetings in London on behalf of Pain Concern (UK) also meetings of the Patients' Forum, a spin off of the Patients' Association. On one occassion I attended a fringe meeting of the Labour Party on behalf of Pain Concern (UK) at which I shared a platform with the late Donald Dewar. The subject being discussed at that meeting was welfare benefits. I also represented the organisation, together with the then Chairperson Sue Clayton, at a meeting at the Department of Health where, amongst other matters, we discussed funding for the organisation.
I have looked on the website but cannot find any details of the current officers of the organisation. Can someone point me in the right direction?
Well done for all those who are now carrying the flag-I expect Heather W is somewhere amongst them!

I have had quite a lot of contact with Pain Concern at various meetings where I represent patients with pelvic pain through the Pelvic Pain Support Network . A message board is a good way for those in pain to support each other. We added a message board to our website a few months ago and are adding sections to it all the time based on feedback from patients and clinicians. It is being well used and provides a way of disseminating up to date information on a wide range of topics.
The website is : http://www.pelvicpain.org.uk

hi all
As the newest member just signing in to say hello. thanks to Mel for you mail, i was just finding my way round site and hearing from you encouraged me to post. The site appears pretty easy to use and seems to be taking off which is great. Briefly I have neck pain constant now for 5 years, surgery 3 years ago as MRI showed compression of discs, unfortunately it had little impact on pain. Forced to retire on health grounds from my post as community midwife last July. Have done pain managment course and use a variety of drugs/treatments to manage symptoms. Looking forward to being part of forum.

Hi Pain Concern
I like your discussion online as it allows people to keep in touch with other pain sufferers and stops people feeling isolated with their problems.
People have a chance to give advice or just a sympathetic ear, good idea!!
Like it, i think other do too.
Keep chatting guys.
