    A UK resource for health professionals. Includes information about the management and treatment of pain.
  • Pain Relief Foundation
    A UK charity which funds research into the causes and treatment of chronic pain and is concerned with the education of doctors and nurses in pain management. Self-help leaflets and tapes.
  • Pain.com
    Huge online library of information on pain.
  • American Pain Foundation
    US-based international site with information on pain. A very good site which is the patient support and advocacy partner of the American Pain Society.
  • The American Chronic Pain Association
    Very comprehensive and although like the previous site it is directed at the American public there is a lot of very good stuff which is just as applicable to pain sufferers here and also lots of good links.
  • Pain Treatment Topics
    The mission of Pain Treatment Topics is to serve as a noncommercial resource for healthcare professionals & their patients, providing open access to clinical news, information, research, and education for a better understanding of evidence-based pain-management practices. Another very good American site that is well worth a look.

    Dr Mark Miller's site from the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
  • The Royal College of Anaesthetists
    The College is the professional body responsible for the specialty of anaesthesia throughout the UK, and to ensure the quality of patient care through the maintenance of standards in anaesthesia, critical care and pain management.

  • Bath Centre for Pain Services
    The Bath Centre for Pain Services run intensive treatment programmes for groups and individuals with complex pain associated disability, for whom local out-patient services are not appropriate. They use behavioural therapy including mindfulness training. They work closely with the University of Bath on pain research.
  • EQUIP This is an NHS website which contains links to quality-checked health and social care information for the UK public. There is also information about national support groups and organisations and also local information for the West Midlands region.
  • Dr Foster Health Dr Foster Health aims to help visitors access impartial, comparative information detailing the quality of NHS and private hospitals, what services they offer and how services compare between these hospitals. They also publish clinically reviewed guides and provide data about specific medical conditions, treatments, waiting times and length of stay.
