Whats Been Happening at Pain Concern?

• Our information service continues to be very busy, since January we have sent out over 600 packs to individuals as well as 1000s of leaflets to hospitals and clinics throughout the UK. In addition, E-mail enquiries have increased substantially and we now send large numbers of our leaflets out via e-mail.
• As part of the Translating Pain Campaign Pain Concern gave a press statement and our contact details were given out on a number of radio and television programmes. As a result, we were inundated with requests for further information. In one day we received over 40 calls!
• We have also recently collaborated with journalists producing a number of magazine and newspaper articles, these have included the Daily Telegraph, which featured Lynne Fisher, one of our volunteers, Take a Break Summer Special which included an interview with our Chair, Heather Wallace and Time Magazine, which included an interview with Lorraine Smith, one of the volunteers who works in our office. We have also assisted the BBC, The Daily Mail and Tiger Aspect Productions with programmes and articles on pain.
• The latest edition of our Magazine Pain Matters proved to be very popular and we have received a lot of positive feedback. In particular, many readers found the article How Safe Are My Pills very helpful, especially in light of recent developments surrounding certain medications.
