- MEDTRONIC PAIN THERAPIES - PATIENT ADVISORY CONFERENCE
Heather was invited to attend this Conference in Barcelona on 22nd and 23rd September, organised by Medtronic. The conference was organised to coincide with the World Institute of Pain Congress to provide an opportunity for various pain patient groups to meet and learn about each other’s activities. On the second day delegates were invited to attend a symposium entitled Neuromodulation Management: A Step Ahead Optimising Outcomes and Practice Efficiency.
- MEDTRONIC PATIENT LINK WORKSHOP Medtronic are also hosting a Patient Link Workshop entitled ‘Expanding the Capacity of Patient Associations’ in Switzerland in September. Kate Kerr will represent Pain Concern at the event.
- EUROPEAN PAIN NETWORK On 6 December, the European Pain Network launched its' Manifesto and The Map of Pain. As members of the European Pain Network, we were involved in the publicity for the launch.
- On 15th January, Anne Damerell, Pain Concern's representative to the European Pain Network, attended a meeting hosted by them, in Brussels. The purpose of the meeting was to review the launch of the Manifesto and to discuss the plan and projects of the EPN for 2005.
- JOHNSON AND JOHNSON PATIENT ADVOCACY CONFERENCE
Heather Wallace attended a Patient Advocacy Workshop organised by Johnson and Johnson and held in Berlin. The title of the Workshop was ‘Encouraging Dialogue and Improving Health Outcomes’. The meeting was designed to promote discussions and share learning about effective health care policy advocacy on national and European levels. Pain Concern shared a stand with Back Care at the Event.
