• Our Telephone Help Line Service continues to be very busy. As well as pain sufferers we receive a large number of calls from the families and carers of pain sufferers.
• In December 2004 Pain Concern became members of the Telephone Help Lines Association. The Association offers an excellent range of support services to help line operators, which will be very beneficial to Pain Concern.
• These services include a wide range of training courses for staff and volunteers working on the help line and we have already begun to take advantage of these.
• One of our help line volunteers who attended the Core Help line Skills course described it as ‘excellent’ and said she “found it had helped her immensely when talking to callers to the help line”
• We are constantly working towards improving and expanding the Help Line service, enabling us to train more volunteers and help more pain sufferers.
